Hey all. Just wanted to get some pics of the OEM tool kit for the Q. I don't think it was offered in the US. At least that is what I think
Nice little piece to leave in the trunk for those bad experiences
They all have the infiniti logo and "INFINITI" labeled on them

That is WAY cool. Kinda like what BMW has in all their cars. Actually the BMW tools are almost specially made for the car in that where normal wrenches don't work, the BMW tools work perfect.

I believe they shaped that tool case to precisely fit into the spare tire top cover.

Interesting coincidence. Was just visiting to see if I could get a few parts including one of the parts in this kit. Guess not if it wasn't standard US equipment!

In Australian spec cars the kit is located in a pocket in the carpet on the left hand side. It will only fit with the rounded side to the outside of the car. Just checked and there is no other place to put it around the spare in my car.

OZ, love the blue color of your Q- we didnt get many 94-96Q in that color in the USA. There is 1 that I occasionally see at the Infiniti dealer service dept, mint condition with only about 20,000 miles on it,still owned and babied by its original owner.....he makes the service dept keep it inside whenever it is at the dealer to protect it from the elements and the possibility of door dings from other cars being shuffled around the lot- it is truly stunning, like brand new.

Hi qship96,

It's actually just the simple KH3 black obsidian. Made me drag the picture into a graphics program to check the colour balance (and the originals at post4047373.html#p4047373). It does show that the top in particular has a slight blue cast transitioning closer to black on the way down. Guess it was just that it was a lovely sunny day. Putting a good shine on it does make a difference! Also proves the point about being careful when using pictures to buy things. I've looked at some photos for a long time trying to work out the true shade.

Regards,

Mark

Hi Mike,

My trim code is W - grey.

And, to anyone listening! The top tool is the one I'm missing from my kit. I've always assumed that it serves the dual purpose of removing the wheel trim from the standard wheels (the "screwdriver" style end on the right), and to wind the jack (via the hooked end - even thought it doesn't look like it makes a good handle to turn). I only say that as there is no other suitable item in my car for the jack. Does that sound right, or do the US spec vehicles have something different?

I've not used any of the tools other than the wheel nut wrench as it seems a shame to spoil them otherwise - kind of defeats the purpose however.

Regards,

Mark
