The bolt pattern is 5X114.3 (4.5) six spoke 2003 G35 OEM and looking to put it on my 97 Q45.

Will this work?

I bought the car 2 years ago with aftermarket wheels which looks really small for the car (235/45-17) and I suspect my speedometer readings aren't accurate.

Standard diameter is 26", OEM minimum load rating is 94, and OEM speed rating is z.

Lot of posts on wheel tire combinations.

Welcome in, and dive in and start reading.

The G35 wheels should fit, but those tires sound awful skinny. I'd think you'd want 225/55 or 235/50 at a minimum, probably 245/45 in the rear, though a touch short.

IIRC, those are 17x7.5 +30 F 17x8 +33 R.

The specs for the base (F)Y33 wheels are 16x7 +40 and don't have the nice flush look of the 99-01 Touring's 17x7.5 +30 wheels.

The 17x7 +45 wheels on 03-06 G35 sedans will have more of a sank in look on the (F)Y33.

I'd recommend some 235/50-17 tires and wheels from the G-coupe either staggered or all of the same to better fill the wheel wells of your 97 Q.

Many thanks to all of your input. This is a fantastic forum.

I got a set of 2006 M35 8-spoke wheels instead, 245/45-18 with 50%(F)/75%(R) tread for $650.

I'm sooo tempted to lower this thing but don't know i can afford the expense.

I really like the grill of the 99-2000 Y33 with the center part of the grille backened. I'm not sure what one of those will run me.

Those wheels will require a 25mm hubcentric spacer. Stay away from the cheap ones.

Presume your car has fresh fluids and filters throughout and has been restored to as new OEM specifications? If not, spend your money there first.

Yes, figure on more than $125 per axle ... look for H&R.

I found the following H&R spacers:

DRS 20 mm 4065662 $125 DRM 25 mm 5065662 $150

Presume I should go with the DRMs?

Regarding maintenance, it has 105K miles (bought it with 75Kmiles) and I'm having the transmission fluid changed (the pan dropped, filter changed) filled with Nisan Matic D fluid. Also the differential fluid has probably never been changed and getting that done.

30K miles ago I did a transmission flush with Redline Synthetic, however this time around I was recommended to go with Nissan Matic D due to the friction properties.

Other work done:

- spark plugs @ 85K - front shocks @ 100K - brakes & rotors @ 85K

What other major maintenance is recommended? My hope is for the car to go to 150K relatively trouble-free in the next 12-24 months as my daily driver.

Strange in that rear usually shocks go first.

The car has struts and they are expensive, cheapest I could find were $238/piece (list price is ~ $320) . My mechanic called the dealer and found out that they sell the cylinders for the struts for $70/piece and he charged me labor to put them in but it still ended up being cheaper. I don't believe there is anyone that makes aftermarket struts for this car.

Your replacement strut choices are stock ones that you can get from everythinginfiniti which is Scotsdale Infiniti. Many people have bought lots of stuff from these guys and they give nice discounts, I seem to remember they were close to $500 for struts/shocks replacements. There are no aftermarket ones available through the usual places for the Y33, you will have to use resouces on this board like Onetongarage who has figured out how to get KYB SR Specials out of Japan. These cost close to $700 but blow away the stock by a long way, and it is not like the stock ones are cheap.

Search for his posts, I replaced mine and had new 2" lowering springs sourced from Kevin Falk, that coupled with 19" rims and the 2nd Gen Q can handle with any car out there on the road.
