Here are some pics of the parts just in case.....Before- Notice NO Fog switch this is the part I removed...Drootz wrote:Hey Guys,
Just wanted to let you all know that the OEM foglight switch is a piece of cake to swap out. I have a 3.5SE sedan that didn't have stock foglights so I bought some of the stock OEM fog lights from the guy on ebay for next to nothing. Since I have the 3.5 the stock wiring harness was there and already had the plugs. So I plugged them in.
I then ordered a OEM foglight/blinker/winshield washer combo switch. This thing was so easy to install I wasn't sure at first if I would have to take the steering wheel off but NOPE.....First disconnect negative from battery, then All you do is remove the 2 screws behind the wheel by turning it till you can access them. Then You need to remove the plate on the lower left of the dash and remove the one screw behind there. Take the side panel of the dash off that is sandwiched next to the door. This should get the bottom piece of the dash off then there is one more screw on the steering wheel column you remove. You may now unsnap the column piece. Remove 2 screws holding the blinker/winshield washer switch, unclip the one white plug that goes into the bottom of it and just slide it straight up and out.
Then put replacement headlight/foglight/winshield washer combo switch in by sliding it down, plugging in white wire harness plug and attach the 2 screws back. You have now just added a stock OEM foglight switch to your car and kept it's stock/OEM look.
Now just reassemble dash by reverse order of steps above to put column back together and dash back together.
You now have OEM fogs with an OEM switch with NO WIRING! Total install time like 30 mins.
I got the switch online from http://www.buynissanparts.com it came to like $120 with shipping I think.Gaboum wrote:Hi,
Can you tell me how muche is the switch and where did you get it.Thanks
As I recall (and I could be wrong) but the consensus was.....if you have the 2.5 you have NO STOCK wiring for the the stock Fogs, and therefore would need to wire them yourselves and run your own switch.adidas2go wrote:The wiring is actually there, running to the fog lights? I thought the general consensus was the stalk replacement wasn't the problem, it was there is no wiring running to where the stock fogs go
I believe this is only possible on the 3.5's as far as other models fogs I am unaware of their compatability.CoutureCoupe wrote:Do we know what models have the stock wiring? I would like to install a set but I am not sure if I am pre-wired. That would make life a lot easier. Also, are other models' fogs compatible with ours? I cannot find any stock fogs on eBay besides aftermarket.
I'm thinking it may just be cheaper and less time consuming to just bring it to the dealer, someone tell me otherwise.
U sure? because I have a 2.5sl too and I am not sure the fog lights are prewiredGaboum wrote:I have a 2.5 SL and it is prewired for fog. I had some fog installed at an autoelectronic shop and its working with the switch at the steering column already in place and I did not have to replace the steering column switch with a stock fog switch . The fog lights turn on when the headlight switch is turn to the on position.
i believe if you have a 2.5S with premium package it comes pre-wired. otherwise we need to go aftermarket. can anyone verify this?missmedude wrote:
