OEM Exhaust size?

Does anyone know the size of the OEM Exhaust piping? I am looking at a Y pipe, as I have a friend giving me a Megan Racing M-OE Style exhaust for free, and I am wondering what Diamater the Y-pipe I need as far as getting the duals to connect to the Y section of the pipe.

if i remember correctly i think it is 2 inch but im not 100% on that that might have been 1 3/4 its been a while since i messed with the exh.
but im sure one of the guys on here will know for sure

The stock exhaust piping is 1.75" I don't know where they're getting 2.25" at.

im pretty sure its 2.25 also but i can be wrong. its been a while since i messed with mine too(i have stock exhaust just dealt with transmission issues and have crappy exhaust where the bolts are rusted too much).

2.25 from the engine to cats, 1.75 exiting the cats.
No point going bigger then 2 as the stock manifolds are about 1.75 dumping into the 2.25 pipe

on an na vg30de dont go bigger than 2.25" or else it will start to sound raspy. my friend has straight 2.25" exhaust on his 261rwhp NA 300zx and it sounds like sex on wheels. he said he tried bigger and it sounded like crap.

I am just trying to get a little bit of a Deep tone to it not to much of a Rasp on it. I am looking for that 300xz sound. I am going to run a 2 1/4 Y into a 3' pipe all the way back to a Megan Racing M-OE exhaust. I believe I should get that deep tone I am looking for. I will post a Sound clip whenevr I get it installed.

Here is a vid clip of my friends NA 300zx on the dyno. he has 2.25" straight exhaust. think he made 242rwhp on this pull.

its a slightly bored out motor (3.13L) with a lot of internal work and really good tune. up to 261rwhp which is as much hp as a stock 300zxTT makes to the wheels.
