Okay, I know this topic must have been discussed before but I couldn't find it with the search.

I have a 95 standard generic 240sx with nothing modified, the muffler just fell off. The whole exhaust is rusted to **** and needs replacement. I'm a poor college student so cost needs to be as small as possible, but I'd like to get a stainless one as to not cause anymore rust problems in the future. I've been looking on ebay http://motors.search.ebay.com/...rchi= and looking to buy one of the cheaper deals.

Now to the questions: Am I better off just letting a dealer do it for me? Which ones could you suggest on ebay for me? Are these things fairly straightforward/time consuming to install?

Sorry about the generic post, I'm sort of getting prodded by my parents to get the damn thing fixed before I go out west for the summer.

2 bolts, 3 hangers. straight forward install once u get the car up on jack stands.

What you searched for didn't make sense (link gave a bunch of pics of downpipes).

As a poor college student... I think you're better off getting a stock cat-back from another 240 - either junk yard, or someone parting/selling it.

Or even just bringing it to a muffler shop & have them weld you in a new muffler - should last a while.

If you get a stainless one, or other ebay one, you may want to get one w/ a silencer - ones w/o may be too loud -> get you a ticket -> then you have to buy a stock catback anyway.

As for brand, an exhaust is an exhaust for the most part... a lot of guys have run the ss autochrome ones w/ no problems... seems to be the cheapest of the bunch.
