I'm somewhat happy with the OEM Dunlops that came with my Rogue - sounds like they much better than the Conti's anyway.

Just wonder what sort of lifespan people are getting from these. The tread pattern is unlike other tires I've had before.

The grooves/channels on the outer edge of the tire are significantly shallower than the inner channels. I don't think this is uneven wear (since I'm pretty good at checking/maintaining tire pressure) - but I can't recall exactly what the tread patter looked like in the new tire.

I'm currently at about 27,000 km (16875 miles), and if I judge by the center grooves, I'm guessing I've got about 50-60% life left. If I go by the outside grooves, its more like 20-30% left.

Any ideas?

If you don't have the cargo organizer, you will have an identical full size spare and presumably Dunlop tire in the spare tire well to compare with.

Tread wear is determined by the wear bars built into the tire. They generally run across the tread on the inside the circumferential grooves. It's not uncommon to lose the smaller 'siping' and tread voids as the tire wears so I don't think it's abnormal wear.

Are these the tires you have:

Those are the ones.

Unfortunately I had a nail puncture one of my tires in an inopportune spot (pretty much at the sidewall) which could not be patched, so no spare to compare with.

Its exactly the siping that is 'worn' down, but even looking at the pic of the new tires you posted, looks like the siping is shallower than the main circumferential grooves.

Thanks for the tip.

So I'll have to go back to my first conclusion, still at least 50-70% of the tread left after 27k. Pretty happy with that. A little noisy on the highway though.

Hah, you should see my Conti's right now! I estimate about 40,000km (24,000mi) on them. They are starting to look like 5 bands of rubber seperated by grooves.

Meh, I just keep beating on them hoping they will wear out by the end of the summer.

Dang Conti's

I have close to 3000 miles on my Rogue now and they look fine. I'm hoping I get through this winter and all next summer then put new Goodyears on in the fall of 2010. I'll probably go with the Goodyear Assurance tires.

Some other members have been using the Yokohama Avid TRZ. You may want to check them out:
