Does a 93 Q45 have an OEM CD Changer that works with the OEM Bose Stereo??

If so, where can I find them??

Thanks~~

Nope, only 94+ models were pre-wired for a CD changer.

There were some dealer installed changers in 90-93 models but the control panel was in the center console.

I have an FM modulated Sony CD changer and it works fine... I just put the control unit below the window switches. Doesn't look perfect, but close enough.

I have a 94Q but no CD changer. Where in the trunk is the connector for the CD changer? I see two what looks like co-axial connector under the speaker shelf?? I would like to figure out how to adapt a new CD changer to the Bose unit.

The factory changers were two different Sony models with an Infiniti proprietary controller to interface with the Bose (Clarion) head unit. They both used XA-10B carriers, which are no longer made and almost extinct in the retail channel.

There was a website that had a list of adapters for proprietary harnesses to accept standard remote CD-ROM players. I'll post if I find it.

The Coax is for the Cell Phone Antenna, there should be another harness with a 5 PIN DIN Connector and a 4 wire power connection.

That's what the coax hooks up. Thanks. I didn't see the DIN connector when I replace the rear shocks with 'the blues'. I just thought I could use the power for something else.

Check with Crutchfield on the connector. They stock alot of adaptors for after market models. However, the last time I checked (two years ago) they did not have one for the Q. The prewired harness behind the passenger side rear panel in the trunk. I got my hands on a OEM 2 years ago and installed it. Had to cut a few of the trunk liner panels to get it in, but basically four bolts and clip in the connector and I was in business. When I got my OEM it came with another full harness. If anyone needs one for their Bose system, I have an extra.

One of the online Infiniti parts dealers (Lisle or Scottsdale or maybe both) sells a changer that plugs into the stock Bose system on my 95, (and I assume 94 and 96s too). It was about $400 with the install kit and trim piece, and literally took 20 mins to install. There are a couple of connectors hidden behind the trunk trim piece on the passenger's side that the changer plugs into, and a couple of bolt holes on the trunk floor with plastic covers on them that the changer bracket screws into. The only issue is that the new trim piece that covers the changer was designed for the original bigger Sony changer, and the opening is much bigger than needed for the newer (Kenwood or Clarion I forget which) changer, so it looks a little funny, but it's not a big deal.

I'm not sure if anything but a FM modulated changer is available for 90-93 cars at this point.

I thought this might happen, so I bought an extra one "just in case" back in 1991 when I bought my first Q. Needless to say, when I got my current 1995 Q (in 1998), the extra came in handy, since the previous owner did not give me one with the car. I now have two and it is easy to load up one inside my house and swap them.
