Does anybody have info on an Nissan parts site that has a replacement CD changer for th BOSE system. My wife went to play a CD the other day and got the dreaded err2 message. Lights on, lots of spinning, disk won't eject. Figure on swapping it with factory replacement so I dont have to screw around with wiring or steering wheel issues. Any info on a replacement is appreciated.

Do some googling. When mine died (same symptom), I found several folks who would fixed them. I ended up getting an MP3 player
instead. Ripped all the CDs and a bunch of 33s to MP3, now have about 15 hours instead of 3.

You might honestly rather look into an after market unit, as the stock one is a POS, at least in my case.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not spending good money to fix that POS CD Changer. I'M going to buy an aftermarket system with 1 CD Changer most likely from Crutchfield. I spoke to a couple a guys and they seem to know their suff and whats needed to swap out yet retain BOSE amps. The question I have is there a way to retain the the wheel volume and mode controls. The guy a Crutchfield looked at the wiring diagram he pulled up and seemed think that while they sell a wiring harness that integrates the new system with the existing BOSE amp, the wheel controls that run down the stering column would have to be spliced in. I don't understand how that would happen if you are taking the existing controls that plug in the OEM Pathy system, plugging them in to the integration harness sold by Crutchfiend that's made for the Pathy and crimping the other side of the harness to the new system. Don't the wheel controls run to the harness pluged into the OEM system?

i had the err2 message, i used a knife to pop the cd changer disk holder out, then popped it back in, voila, all fixed. worth a try if youre gonna trash it. if you look closley, youll see which mechanical part is stuck and you can free it with the knife

From the homework I did when my CD player died, the most common cause of ERR2 is that the white plastic piece that holds the center
of the disk breaks. Check for that.

Unfortunately my parents put in aftermarket head unit once the CD changer went south years and years ago while the car was still being driven by my mother. I recently removed the CD changer, tore it apart (not gently) to get the two discs stuck inside out, and threw the thing out. Maybe I could've removed the discs and reassembled the unit and shipped it to someone here for shipping costs if they wanted to try to fix it? Oh well, too late.

I do have a line output converter (this one) with wiring if somebody needs it to use an aftermarket head unit with a stock Bose system, though. I have since upgraded to completely new speakers and a different head unit, so I no longer need it. I'll sell for $10 + shipping. I also have the four stock Bose speakers with front amps only (rear amp is still sitting mounted in the Pathy, but I could probably remove it if somebody needs it), but I ripped off the plastic speaker bracket around each speaker for use with my new speakers, so I would offer a small discount to cover new ones for you if somebody needs them. If anybody wants either of these items, just send me a PM.

Sorry for the (sort of) off topic post!
