which is why you don't. A sedan has a trunk which is locked out separately from the car (some sedans go so far as to need your key in order to fold down the seats)...
Whereas a hatch is still considered the interior of the car and therefore not secure-able from the inside. (I can't recall any hatch right now that has anything other than a toneau cover but I'm sure there has to be 1 hatch made as some point that has a rigid, locking toneau but I have no idea what it would be or when it was made... but people offer odd things in cars that don't take off... or, as in the case of the Tucker, that need to sit and cook for another 20 years...)
Above it says that if the driver's door is unlocked the hatch is too... that doesn't work with the convenience package (just FYI since this thread has been resurrected... it's alive!) ... with the convenience package, the hatch either unlocks with all the doors or when just the hatch request switch is pressed.
A Nissan sedan with the convenience package also has 4 buttons on the fob... adding a truck unlock button. The sedan I drove did not have a trunk request switch, keyhole for the trunk, or a button to open the trunk from inside the vehicle. (Which seems stupid because if the battery to your fob dies or you lose your fob... you're sentenced to entering your trunk from the backseat until you can afford the $150 for a new I-Key... This was either a sentra or an altima) I don't remember if it required the key to fold down the seats, but I have been in several sedans that were that way.
My only sedan I ever had had the lever to open the trunk so meh. If it had been more secure, then when my car got broken into, I'd still have my nice tailored trail coat, leather jacket, camera tripod... *cry*
