i found it intersteing that 1998 qx4 takes 245 70 16 size tire and a 2000 qx4 which has same rims same everything takes 255-65-16

whats up with this. i have noticed that with these tires my speedo shows faster than I am really going. i guess next time around i should get 255-70-16 will these clear without rubbing issues? thanks

255-70-16 should fit without issue.

yes, 255/70/16 will fit fine. you can even stuff a 265/70/16 in there with minimal rubbing at full lock. the 255/70/16 equates to right about a 30" tire, and the 265/70/16 equates to right about a 31" tire.

i run a 255/70/16 and my speedo is right about spot on after i tested it with two different GPS units. a 265/70/16 may be near exact, but i haven't tested that.

255-65-16 is wider, lower profile, about the same diameter as 245-70-16 so it works. Try dealing with the combos
of wheels and tires Chebby has put under the C4 'vette. It gets WAAAY more complex.

Dont think I have ever replaced tires on any vehicle I have owned with stock size... Wider the Better (except for snow and rain and gas mileage and price....) Heh Heh
