OE 17" & 18" Dunlop Tires !!!

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Well, the ETA for my 2010 EX35 is approaching and I might opt out because of all the "BAD" news about the 17" & 18" OE Dunlop tires !!!

Do any of you 2008-2010 EX35 AWD owner's have anything good to say abouthe OE Dunlops ?

I find the 18" Dunlops to work fine. I have 16K on them and they should last to 30K. Traction and handling are acceptable, noise is average. All tires get nosier as they wear out. I road raced cars for 12 years and burned up a lot of different kinds of tires; every tire design/brand has ups and downs at some point during their life cycle.

Are you saying that you might not buy this car because of the OEM tires that come with it?? If that's the case, get the dealer to change them out or drive off the lot to a tire dealer and get a good trade-in on the tires and get something to your liking.

I have an 08 2WD. For snow and ice I have some Michelin Xi2 snows mounted on 17" aftermarket alloy wheels. With the snows I have no troubles getting around in the slick stuff. If you look at your insurance deductible and the time associated with getting a car repaired snow tires are a bargain.

The Dunlops are shhiitt Tires... but don't let that stop you from buying a EX35... cause the Tires don't last very long and then you'll be driving on some different Tires, real soon.

That all being said, we just got a real big dump of Snow... and the ol' EX just plowed on through.

My Wife is having so much fun going anywhere she wants to, without any worries.

Still, I won't be replacing the Dunlops with Dunlops again... I'm going to put on some Michelins!

i have a 2010 ex35. dunlops made it 30,000k. not having much experience with tires, i cannot really say whether they are good or not. think i might try something else though.
one question i did have is: is there a mileage warranty... ie if the tread is gone before so many kilometers...?
thanks

My 2008 EX Journey AWD (17" rims) came stock with Michelins, too. At least from my reading anyway, It sounds like every EX which came with 18" rims also came with the Dunlops.

Agreed!

These are great cars and buying a set of replacement tires doesn't have to be an uber-expensive proposition. I just bought my 17" Nokian all-seasons for under $700 and absolutely love them (have I mentioned that before? )

I haven't owned a set of Dunlops in many years, but my father in law (Dunlop Signature Sport A/S on his '99 Acura CL) and my mom (Dunlop Radial Rovers M+S on her '97 Wrangler) both had a set on their respective vehicles and neither was pleased with them. Sounds like a brand to stay away from if possible.

Check out this Link to Tire Rack.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp ... 7000+A%2FS

...then click on the "Warranty" Tab.

It says there is Zero tread-life warranty...

Treadlife Warranty: None
Uniformity Warranty: 6 Months / first 2/32" wear
Workmanship & Materials Warranty: 6 Years / Free replacement first year or 2/32" of wear, then prorated until 2/32" remaining depth
Manufacturer's Road Hazard Warranty: None
Manufacturer Warranty Brochure: Download PDF
Manufacturer Special Warranty: None

Pretty much explains why they are shhiitt Tires. :chuckle:
