odometer stops working unless i reset tripometer? wat the?

at a certain number in my tripometer (around 5000) my odometer will stop working and i have to reset the tripometer to keep the odometer working? any idea whats going on here? im pretty sure it just started doing it recently and im not sure why.

dont know either.. Mine stopped working too but only the tach and speedo work on mine. Im swaping out the cluster

mine sticks every once and awhile, when i notice i push the trip and it starts rollin again...

i dont worry about it... i know i have alot of miles i dont need the odometer ticking away like a bomb to my poor 240s death

The trip might be snagging on something at that point. If it gets jammed up, the whole assembly ceases to work. You can replace the trip with a known working unit and still keep your odometer.
