I'm new to these boards so I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question but,

I've noticed that the odometer and speedometer have stopped working, although occaisionally they do, the speedo more than the odo. What could explain them intermittently working? Is there a simple fix I can do by taking the dash apart, or is it a speed sensor or something?

Car is a 1990 with analog speedo. Stopped at 76k miles.

ThanksJosh

First thing i would do is jack up your car, crawl under it and try to find the speed sensor. It is located on the passanger side of the transmission towards the rear of the vehicle but before the drive shaft, and is held on by only 1 bolt. Slide it out and check to see if the teeth are worn or broken. If this doesnt help, post back and let us know.

I have the same problem on my 1990. the odo stops working when it is cold out but the speedo works ok. i believe this is covered in the faq on 240sx.org
