I have been searching for a 300zx for a while now.. and just about every carfax report I have ran show an inconsistant odometer reading. Possibly a rollback or the odometer or something?

Is it common for the odometers to fail on the z32 or Do you think its just an error on the previous owners part when reporting the milage?

Another Q, I found a 91 z32 TT with 110K miles on it. It looks to be in good condition ( I have only seen pics of it) They are asking 9.5k OBO.... think thats a reasonable price or not?

9.5k seems a bit high, but i cant really make any judgements without seeing the car closely...as for the mileage YES there is an odometer issue and its generally solved one and or two ways!

Replace the speedo sensor in the transmission and usually requires replacement of the speedo head inside of the dash, i had this issue with mine where the speedo would stop working and also stop recording mileage, i tried replacing the sensor only and it seemed to only work intermitten, so i bit the bullet on the speedo head ($300-$400) and replaced it too, worked like a charm.

^ I've seen the problem happen....but I wouldn't call it common

As for the price, thats very fair if the car is clean and well cared for.

It has a clean title, 2 owners, non-smokers and the current owner told me she was 53.... so I hope its had a pretty easy life

I ran the car fax report and the only thing that showed up was the milage problem. At one point the milage was reported at 95k miles then about 8 months later it was reported at 68k miles....

I hope it was just a human error on reading the odo... I know its about due for its 120k miles service as well as new turbo pretty soon.
