In my 95' Q45 with about 50k miles, the odometer and the trip odometers do not run together. What I mean is that at--0-- for both they run together as the trip odometer clicks off the 10ths and it hits--9--10ths the odometer will turn, however after about 20 or 30 miles the trip odometer will go to 1.3or4 miles before the odometer starts to move. Does anyone know what could cause this, and how to fix it. I just want them to work correctly, and not put more miles than traveled:(

The odometer in my '92 Q is broken, has tracked 12K of the last 52K miles I've driven. (Who knows how long it was broken on previous owner.... I could have a 300K car instead of a 183K car)

It's a rare problem but it does happen. Fix is replacing the odometer, and as I recall it's $400+.

I track the mileage manually using the trip odometer, so if I had to sell the car I could be honest.

But if my car is in an accident and gets totalled by insurance, I'd much rather be paid off for a 142K car (what it shows) than a 183K or 300K car. Why be honest with insurance?

am going through kinda the same thing on my 90Q that i just bought. the carfax #'s and the odometer lined up pretty good when i bought it a few weeks ago, though. i just had the guides done and on the ride home from the shop the odometer didn't roll at all, although the tripometer worked fine. the car sat for about 4 days, then when i drove it i heard a couple quick clicks and it started rolling again. has worked ever since. who knows?if you'd like to replace it, joe at scottsdale quoted me a price of about $240. they'll set your current mileage there before they ship it out.jeff

my 91 q has had the odometer out of alignment slightly for the last 45k miles. it tracks them correctly just some are above or below the center line. they seem to vary on the misalignment depending on which number is the current display also.
