My tech says that when he worked for an Infiniti dealer back East, a customer brought his Q in with over 300k miles and wanted the motor rebuilt. It ran okay, and tested out good, so they told him he didn't need it. He was a salesman and traveled a lot. Anyway, he insisted. They tore the motor down, and were surprised to fnd that it had no measurable wear.FWIW, the guy DID perform recommended mainteance religiously. They put it back together and gave it back to him. No info on it after that, as the tech moved here to Phoenix shortly afterward.jcogley wrote:Any 200,000 mile Q45's out there.
With regular maintenance, when do usually kick the bucket?
Brian, you are a great source of information and a big help to G50 and Y33 owners here. I think you need to keep your '95 "t" model G50 and the 2000 Y33, and replace the standard '95 G50 with an F50, say a 2004 0r 2005. Maybe then us orphan F50 owners can get the benefit of your insight and wisdom too. It seems like most F50 owners are concerned more with lowering and wheels than anything else, and like to post pictures of them with grille and spoiler mods. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but there's more to Q45s than that. Besides, F50 owners have other issues too.maxnix wrote:T-3 has a over 400K G50.
Dennis is approaching 325K.

What year Q?No leaking valve covers?Chriskin wrote:I have over 265,000 miles and have never had an engine or transmission problem.
And then ran it for another 20K before rebuilding it (according to your sigline)?carfrk666 wrote:however i blew the engine at 253,000
Possibilities that I can think of:KwoodTheOne wrote:Ill never hear the end to this reply!!!!! I'm betting the majority of these dont have timing chain guides done and they have lasted a long time!!! I got 2 1991 Infiniti Q45s One has over 220,000 no reverse and the other 103,000 miles. If timing chains are so important and THEY ARE how did ALL THESE CARS MAKE IT SOOO HIGH IN MILEAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
since when do dealerships rebuild engines?!?StarPD wrote:

The same tech says that Q trannies are strong too, and should with proper care and no abuse last at least 250k miles, maybe more.
YMMV
