So I was installing my AVIC-X910BT today and ran into an odd problem. The harness for the radio from the car doesn't have a wire in the location that the ground wire comes in from the METRA kit. I checked the stock radio and there was a pin coming from the original in that slot, so I'm not sure if this is something that is normal or not. Has anyone else run into this problem? Is anyone else using an alternate chassis ground instead? If so, where?

Thanks

I don't think any of the Altimas have a ground in the wiring harness (could be wrong). But, it's better to ground to the body anyway. I don't remember the exact location that I grounded to, but there's plenty of bolts back there behind the head unit you can use. If it goes to metal, it's probably ok. Make sure you sand it or something to get the best possible connection (which will help eliminate noise and other issues). You can check the continuity to ground with a multimeter between the grounding spot and the 12V always on from the wiring harness (this wire is generally yellow on the aftermarket harness - I'd have to check the FSM to find the correct pin number).
