odd wheel hop on one side rear wheel while accellerating...just need new shocks?

ok, every once in awhile when i REALLY get on it one of the rear wheels has a BAD vibration, i think its wheel hop but am not sure. i have an s13 with an rb20, and a SHOT suspension. i jsut got it installed and just bought the car so no general repairs have really been done yet and i dont want to spend money on the wrong thing as i will build the car up later as money allows. the brakes have a leak somewhere also so i am trying to upgrade them ASAP instead of just doing maintance. any help is GREATLY appreciated!

blown shocks (I'm assuming you're on stock suspension?) can cause wheel hop and/or wheel vibration. Also, check if the wheel/tire is properly balanced... unbalanced wheels can also cause vibrations at certain speeds. There are other factors involved too, but mainly those are the common issues.

susp. is stock, lol. tires are new and just balanced. really trying to find a good cheap setup to go with form now. might be selling it soon, but in case i dont, ik want something on there for me to use for a few months till i go to afghanistan. when i get back i'll buy the good ish! so what are my options on the brakes? i am DEFINATELY going 5 lug asap as i already have wheels and tires, so what all do i need to do as far as brakes during this upgrade?

well common upgrades are the z32 brakes or the cheaper q45/j30 brakes.

But you know, a decent set of pads like hawk or something, paired with some stainless steel braided lines and fresh brake fluid can also be a nice upgrade that you can feel, without breaking the bank.
