s1 rb25det into 89' s13

CAS works and sends proper signal to the ecu.ptu worksecu works (i swapped in another and same symptoms)no wires are cut and ALL have continity

I tried hooking an oscilliscope up but there is to much noise from the starter so i cannot get any reliable readings from iti am getting no spark on any of the coilsthe odd thing is that i can unplug the CAS and still get injector signal but it brightens and dims with the starter motor, as it does with it plugged in.

so, i figure either all six of my coils are gone, or something is amiss that i cannot figure out... any idea's why i have no spark and why my injectors seem off too???

power transmitter? you mean power transistor? if so, all wires leading to ecu check ok from continuity test. all outputs are also in the proper place, and fine.

haha yeah sorry was thinking of two different things at once. Not to sound like I'm looking down on you, but have you checked the charging system? How about fuses, and grounds on that circuit?

no, i haven't checked the charging system, though all my fuses are ok and grounds are all grounded.

i was not aware that the charging system could do this to our cars? i was under the impression that it would just die after running with no alt for a little while.

Funny...because i am having the same problems as your on my s14 rb20det swap . My CAS does had power and all 6 of the plugs that pluged into the ignition-coils does had power also...but i don't get any spark!!!!! and when i start to crank the car....the interior light began to dim-out. Guess i will have to check all of my grounding again and the transmitor.

I didn't realize this was going on for awhile, you are correct in saying that it would die. Have you check the quality of your coils through resistance testing? Also, the condition of the boot? Possibly on all coilpacks could just not be hitting the spark plug. How are the condition of your spark plugs? Gapped properly? Also, make sure all the connectors are plugged in very firmly into the coil pack. When I changed my spark plugs, one connector managed to come off and was rocking the **** out of my engine, I thought I totally screwed it with wrong spark plugs! hahaha. Try that, I'll try to think of something else if that fails.

i have not done any testing of the coils, i did not know that we could or what proper resistance would be, all of my coils seem to be in good condition, at least from looking at them. also i've never heard of all 6 being bad, thats why i started this thread...

so the alt could be say, unplugged and the car would start? but it would just die, is this correct?

thanks for your help so far.

That is how to test out your coils. It is probably impossible for all 6 coil packs to be defective you're right but its something lol. If the alternator was unplugged, the car would run strictly off the battery...and depending on its quality could last half'n'hr or 2 hrs but would die you're right. I didn't realize your problem was going on for awhile, so the alternator is probably not the case. Test your coil packs, check your spark plugs, check connector to coil pack and coil pack to spark plug. This is all I can honestly think of.

well, i now have spark. for all of those that said "wiring" you were right. i had yet another two wires in the wrong place, so far i've been lucky nothing fried (except my CAS).

thank you all who tried to help, this one just had to come the long/hard way.
