All of a sudden, when i start my spec v, the rpms go up normally and then drop to 700-750, almost puttering, and then rise to about 1100, where it usually idles when the engine is cold. But once the engine is warm it doesnt do this. Not only that, if the engine gets cold again , for some time it starts normally, dropping normally to 1100. But if i let the car sit for a few hours, like overnight, it does it again. The odd thing is tha tit doesnt try to die on me, it specifically drops to 700 every time. I thought maybe the clutch was rubbing against the flywheel causeing some more strain on the engine and maybe one of the release components in the clutch was ruined, but that seems not to be the case. What could this be? I would take it to a mechanic but if i did the engine would be warm and i wouldnt be able to show what happens.

Have you changed anything lately, including oil or gas or anything at all?

i changed my oil recently, but it was running fine for a while after that, it must hav been a month ago, i started using 93 now. The oil has been running for about 1000 miles now. The gas ive been using for a little while and it didnt cause any problems. I went drifting in snow once if that has any effect.

Check around for some snow-related clogging, damage, etc.

No clue. Sometimes little stuff like that happens for seemingly no reason. When I bumped up the octane on my car it started bogging and sometimes dying on warm starts. How's your air filter? Maybe your throttle plate was dirty.

You know i was thinking about my air filter today. I was thinking maybe something is obstructing the flow into the engine, air or fuel. It sucks since i dont know how to check these things and if i went exploring my dad wold have my head.

Stock airbox, right?

Pop the hood, look to the right (facing car from front bumper). Big black box with black pipes in and out. I think the top is just held on by clips, so pop it off and take a look at the filter, it should even come right out so you can check the bottom too.
