My speedometer reads accurately up until about 70. Once I hit 75 , holding steady constant speed, the needle keeps going to about 90. It doesnt jump, just slowly fluctuatesbetween 70 and 90. Anybody have any ideas? It's a 92 with a manual and a horrible paint job.

Not jacking the thread or anything but my 93 5spd has a spedo prob too...well, i have a GPS and it tells MPH So when I hit about 60 or 70 it they both read about 5MPH different... when I hit the speed limiter...(supposedly at 115) the GPS on my laptop only read 106....Mav

EDIT: Just not sure which one to go by

I'd go with the GPS. It does'nt care what size wheel/tire you're running, or what gear you're in. Any Ideas on where I should start looking? I'd hate to take the whole thing apart, and then find out it was just a loose wire somewhere.

After looking at your post again, I remembered my grandfather had a truck that did this...The problem was his ground from the battery wasnt right or something...something wasnt grounded right anyway and when he put a new ground wire on it, it worked...I would check that first...Mav
