odd rattle sound

i have a 89 240sx stock i have a odd rattle sound for a while. it has been getting louder over time and i am trying to figure it out. i have done so search on here and people have said heat shield for the catback or bad timing chain tensioner when it make the sound when the car is under a load so could it be one of those thing or something else i will work on it here shortly

i just bought over 120 square feet of raammat sound deadener and about 80 square feet of ensolite. hopefully that'll take car of all my rattles.

the did not rattle when i bought the car also one of the exhaust hangers that is by the transmission was not hook i did hook that up that that is causing the problem

i think it is coming from the engine

GAIJIN i think you should go under the car and examine the problem.. put your face infront of the muffler and tell someone to push the gas while the car is on and see if you can see a rattle noise lol

did you try turning up the radio? sometimes that works...

Yeah dude, we're just supposed to know right off the bat what noise you're speaking of, where it's coming from, and how to fix it. All just by you saying it's when the car is under load.

get a stethoscope, and start poking around the engine bay.

i would say most likely timing belt clacking, but it could be anything really.

i know that it is not the timing chain i check it out today it is nice and tight

you took the whole engine apart to see that the timing chain was tight im calling BS

i took the valve cover off and i have do the timing chain last year
