Completely non-CA18 related, but the 240gen forum is scary. The gas in my gas tank seems to be sloshing around a whole lot, like enough to make the rear end of my car shimmy when coming to a quick stop. Its only noticeable when coming to a kind of quick stop, like crossing some rough railroad tracks and immediately coming to a light. My fuel gauge bounces all the hell around when this happens too. Does anyone else notice this in their S-chassis? Should I be on the lookout for a new fuel tank when I go to rebuild the thing next month?

I did actually try searching, but any combination of FUEL, GAS, and TANK came up with jack squat in both 240 gen and 240 tech. I guess I just fail at searching or something?

Proof I tried. You guys are way cooler than 240gen anyway.

Did the car come to you with the fuel pump changed? Perhaps some well-meaning soul tore the baffles out somehow.

Are you cruising around with three-fitty worth of gas in there most of the time, that could be it too.

These days I roll with a half tank. Got to when gas is half the price of milk.

I have owned my car for a really long time as far as 240sx's are concerned, and I have performed every single modification on it.

I just found it very odd that all of a sudden I started hearing lots more noise from the back. Maybe I should check the fender wells for water, eh?

I was looking at a GT-R a couple of months ago. The guy said "no rust". I opened the trunk, the tire was floating in a pool of water. Spare tire "well" lived up to its name.

the sloshing around bit sounded semi-normal, but when you mentioned your fuel gauge bouncing around like a bastard.....pull your sending unit and have a look around inside the tank with a flashlight.

And you are in Huntsville. Awesome. I will definitely let you know, but right now I can't do anything since the car is in Auburn. What do you want for it? I'll even come pick it up in the 240sx when I am home next. Don't happen to have a sending unit with it too, do you?

Yeah, its been getting pretty bad. Caused me to run out on the highway, well, it didn't help. Getting 17mpg because I was doing 90mph for 3 hours is what really caused it. It bounces around like crazy if I have less than a quarter tank, like full-empty-full-empty-3/4-on the odometer-full....etc...

THIS CAR CAUSES ME SO MUCH GRIEF!! I do love it though.

Yes, I do have a sending unit as well. It's yours just to get it out of my garage. Let me know.

Sounds like a plan. I'll make sure it is in good shape, but this stuff was stripped from a 240 about 3 months ago and has sat in my garage. Car ran until it hit a trailer. Should be straight. Just hit me up when you get into town.
