Ok first off, I know that I am running very rich due to a walbro 255hp and stock fpr. I have ordered ar nismo afpr and gauge.

Now, here is my problem(s). Today I got in the car to go to work and I let it warm up as always. I start driving and everything is fine...pulling normal vacuum and everything. Then, i went to make a u-turn and the car kept wanting to die. I stop to let it idle and it was pulling 10in of vacuum. The car would not go up a hill, which was pretty steep it kept trying to die. I finally managed to get it up the hill and back home. The car is now idling very low 500ish. It is fine while driving, unless going uphill. It still boosts fine as well. It idles smooth, just very low. What would cause this to all of a sudden start?? I wasn't driving hard or anything before the problem started...I never drive it hard since it runs so rich. Could running so rich be causing problems? I am also going to try and clean the aac valve. Any ideas?

Also, the car like to try and overheat. I can hear it bubbling. I know I have air trapped and need to purge it which is my plan for today. Is the stock KA radiator not enough?

I think you know the answers to all your problems...

Bleed the air out of your system.

Check for boost leaks.

Wait for your nismo FPR and gauge and then install.

I only have problems in the lower RPM's, at cruising speed, its fine unless I hit a hill.

i pulled all of my plugs...gap is off just a hair...going to regap them to .32 or .032 whichever it is. I did a compression test...170-175 in all cylinders actually three were 170 and three were 175. I am wondering about the boost leak...I would think it would be more of a vacuum leak since it does it at idle and it makes boost fine. I will test all the hoses either way.

yeah idk what to tell ya man i have problems with my rb25...sometimes it runs rough at idle sometimes not it will spit and spudder and stall then i run rich at low rps and lean at high and runs like s***. . .the one time i unplugged my mass air flow and stalled like normal and plugged it back in ran fine the way home sometimes i will be driving normal down the road and will act up i also just installed my new apexi power fc and changed the fuel map and that didnt help if nay1 can help me that would be awesome but then theres times i beat on it and runs fine and with normal driving the temp slowly creeps up and actually goes to the overflow so im sure i have an issue with my cooling system. i have a 2 core cx racing aluminum radiator and cx racing aluminum overflow and a nismo thermostat i would appreciate any help / advice thanks guys

but on the subject of the actual problem. since its just uphill, maybe from the higher load on the engine, but not into boost, maybe the fuel pressure isnt rising enough? maybe check the fuel filter? or even though you replaced the fuel pump, did you check the sock that sucks up the fuel? mine was really gummed up awhile ago, so bad it was pegging out the AFR by 5k and just replaced it and it fixed the problem completly. worth checking out.

and with the overheating thing, might check the head gasket? if the coolant smells of gas that may be it (not to scare you, just something to check). and like s14_sports says, definatly bleed the air.. on a stock manifold, its really easy. havent figured out a way with the greddy one though. but i do have a 30* incline for a driveway and park it on there, and let it run to get the air out. let us know how it goes

I made a boost leak tester today and tried to check for leaks...but when I pressurize the system....my boost gauge doesn't move and I hear no leaks. I can hear the air going in but thats it.

you're not looking for boost pressure to show on the gauge but rather thru the actual intake track.

I figured by forcing 10lbs of air into the intake track that it would show on the boost gauge.

Somethings not right. As soon as you are sending in air its probably immediately coming right back out somewhere. Anyway you can show us some quick pics of how you have it hooked up?

I have hooked it up straight to the turbo, the ic pipe at the turbo and the ic pipe at the throttle body. I can hear the air flowing in the pipes with a stethoscope, but I never hear and leaks and the gauge doesnt move.

when you say the gauge never moves...you mean once you put a certain amount of air in, Say 10psi...the gauge will hold steady at 10psi?

I mean my boost gauge sits at 0 the while time.

Is the boost leaking out of your bov? Found out mine has been open most of the time unless I keep WOT.

I was told by a friend who really knows RB's that the mas may be dying. So he gave me another to try, tomorrow I will hook it up and see how it does....fingers crossed.
