Nope.

Unless you are talking about 5+ gifs on the same page...
I just opened up a page with one gif and nothing...

EDIT:
Just attached mine...

I have a fairly sizeable .gif, let's see if it jacks up your computer. :lolling:

it actually is.... not enough to freeze it up but enough to choke the life out of the page to where scrolling is messed up.... it took me a good 30 seconds just to be able to scroll to the right spot to click 'quote'

i don't get it though.... its a chrome only thing.... firefox is 100% fine

Wow, I have no idea. In addition to my gif, all the images (ads) to the right and top of the page must be awful for your browser. Maybe use FF when surfing nico and chrome for everything else?

Dude I have zero issues with loading this page on Chrome...

Try re-installing Chrome...

They have Ad-Block for Chrome as well.

I don't use ad-block for FF. I know forum sponsors keep track of "hits" and if you block their ad, they get less hits.

It's probably related to the resizer. Gifs in posts get resized just like normal pictures. This happens as the page loads, and the bigger the gif, the more power it takes to resize it. Not sure why chrome would be susceptible while FF isn't, though.

I recently went back to chrome because all the extentions I absoultley need in FF is now available in Chrome (Google Voice, Session Manager, FastChrome, Xmarks, Awesome Screenshot: Capture & Annotate and Adblock)

No issues with gifs so far
