Alright, so I've got a stock S14 SR setup with a Koyo rad running. But lately, I've just noticed, that while I'm accelerating, especially around 3K and beyond, the temp gauge (And I'm talking about the factory cluster one, which I know is massively inaccurate for anything) is dropping quite fast to the Cold portion of the scale. Once I'm done accelerating either to stop or just maintain speed, the temp gauge normals out.

Is this odd? Should I be worried?

Probably a broken thermostat. It's allowing the water to flow freely and not regulate the temp to stay at it's predetermined range. I would consider changing it out now, because when it gets cold out and your heat isn't working well, you'll wish you had already done that.

Ill agree, sounds like thermostat wont close allowing the liquid to be cooled too much with more air going through the radiator..

I just hunted down the same problem...On my car it turned out to be a loose and dirty connector on the temp sensor to the right of the throttle body. There are two sensors just past the radiator hose, to the right of the throttle body. The single wire sensor is for your gauge and the two wire sensor is for the ECU. I simply pulled off the connector and cleaned all the green crap off and it works like new. Mine would actually stop reading when I revved the motor.

I'll check it out as soon as I can guys. Thanks for the suggestions. The cars going away soon, so I'll have plenty of time to diagnose some of the issues I've been having with my SR.
