Well, i put my 89 ka back together the other day. It had a hole in the timing cover and threw some water in the oil. So it got a new timing kit, and the hole in the cover was welded courtesy of a great welding shop nearby. It also got new oil, filter, distributer cap, rotor, and new injector o-rings. It has no leaks and it runs extremely nicely. However, my oil light ocaisionally will barely start to glow like i have low oil pressure, and it flucuates with rpm's. It never gets very bright and i know i don't actually have low oil pressure, my valves would be making crazy noise if that were the case. Engine doesn't run hot, and doesn't make a sound. I'm wondering if maybe i shorted a wire or 2 when i went cleaning around the engine with mineral spirits.... any ideas?

oil level is full, oil is 10w-30, which i have run in the car for the last 8 years. I've driven it around some today, and it has yet to come on at all. i'm thinking maybe something was stuck in the oil sending unit. I'm going to change the oil again tomorrow anyway, i needed to flush the system out to get the bit of water in it out. I hope it holds up, i'm supposed to drive approx. 400 miles in it sunday. Tested it on interstate tonight and it drives nicely.
