Odd new problem...

Ok..I just pulled my car out of the garage..And i have not started it since the winter started..I put in a new fuel pump and replaced the starter..And jumped the battery..And starter her up..Here's the new problem i have..Car runs great and everything,But will i push in the brake pedel all the interior lights and even the engine idle get affected by me doing this...The lights dim and the engine idle drops slightly..And all this is just for a second and then its fixed.....Any thoughts.

whats your voltage reading while this happens?

Since the power booster is vac operated, it is normal for idle to drop slightly if you press on the brakes fairly hard while you idle.

How low does the idle go?

Its dropping more then it sould.Im used to the idle dropping slightly when i push the brake,But this is not normal,Maybe around 200rpm..Enough to make the lights dim..Im thinking the alternator is bad..cause my battery will be very low if i dont start the car for a few days..And the battery is a new oddesy..

that was happening to me. I found a short in the wires for my brake lights.

you may need to fully charge your battery and then put it back on the car. if it is that low the car is running only off the alt.

Just after I did my swap mine did the same thing, found that my positive terminal was a bit loose (terminal was popping off the cable, not off the battery) after that, no prob.

My battery is died only after a few days without starting her up..???Alternator?
