So last Saturday on my way to the drag races my car started making weird loping noises. I wasn't driving it hard or anything just cruising on the freeway for about 30 minutes. I got off the freeway and as soon as I started driving it in town it felt a little sluggish and makes noise as if I had solid lifters and super aggressive cams (which I don't). I checked the timing, that seemed good. I thought maybe it was an exhaust leak so I did one pass, midway though second gear I knew something wasn't right so I shut it down. I pulled all the timing covers off and checked the timing belt to see if I had somehow jumped a tooth or something, but to no avail, everything was spot on. I checked spark plugs as well, and while they didn't look fantastic, they looked in good shape, no cracked insulators or anything out of the ordinary.
Here they are

I replaced the plugs anyway for good measure. Also checked for exhaust leaks, tightened a few nuts but nothing was very loose. Still makes the same noise though. Finally got a video of it.

So my next thought is lifters...either stuck or collapsed. Any thoughts? I know it's not a spun bearing, I've heard that before on other sr's and whatnot, definitely no clack noise, maybe a hint of tick but I can't tell if that's the injectors or not. The valve train is completely stock. Most recent modification was going to Nismo 740cc injectors, but that was about a week before the noise started. The noise is audible at idle as well as at higher rpm's.

Thanks for any input.

You check oil pressure yet sounds like it that or you overheated

I know my oil pressure is "ok" my Autometer gauge took a dump, I have an 18psi switch installed to a dummy light, so I know at idle, since the light flickers on and off, that my pressure at idle is around 18psi, with any amount of throttle the light goes off. When the gauge was functional my oil pressure was phenomenal.

The motor did get hot that day that the failure happened, it got right up to about 210 F (shouldn't be a huge deal to be this hot though) and I pulled over and let it cool down...no change in performance till later that evening.

My dad has been working on it while I'm at work, he found a dead coil pack. Tomorrow a trip to the junk yard to grab one off of the Q45 there and I should be good.
