Odd Idling Issue on a Friend's Car

Well my RPMs stay at 1,500 and i hit redline at 6000 what would be the cause of these problems. I dont have and leaks so i dont know what the problem would be.

its not even my car, its my friends, i didnt know so i figured some one on her e might of had that problem

You're mistunderstanding me. What I mean is I dont even understand what you are asking. Are you saying that you have an idle problem? You just say that the engine stays at 1500 and wont go above 6000. What engine do you have? You have to explain the problem for people to be able to help.

its a red top s13 in his s14. it was working fine for about 4 months now and this jsut started to happen. the idel stays at 1500. and the redline has droped to 6k.
