I have been reading on another board the gas mileage discrepancy. Many people are getting around 15 mpg, whereas others such as myself are getting around 23mpg. The driving conditions, gas, traffic and everything varies quite abit with the folks. Some are driving roughly the same and getting a good 8 mpg difference.

Anyone got an explanation? Was there a batch of cars that get bad mileage?

How is your car doing in the MPG debate?

I get about 23 mpg, mixed driving (50% highway/50% city). When I traveled from Indy to Dayton, I got around 29 mpg.

If you check a [ten] thousand G35 at the same temperature and altitude at the exact same cruise speed you will see that the injector open time is exactly the same within 2-3-4%.

Acceleration consumes 5-8-10 times more fuel per second than cruising.........making 20HP vs > 260 HP.

If you never mash the accelerator more than half way your mileage will increase tremendously............need a really strong spring on the accelerator!

Note that to run 70 mph on highway you only mash 10-15%.

Also reformulated gasoline ( some states more than others) will impact your milage by 1-2 mpg.

Indiana gas is pretty good hence Rytan's good milage.

Also let's not forget it <is> a performance car with a powerful engine.

And those milage indicators arent always totally accurate.

best way to check milage is to divide gallons filled up by the miles since gassing up last on the trip counter ( zeroed at each gassing up of course).
