White smoke can be caused by a cracked head... or bad gasket.

NAPA sells Seafoam (they are all over New England at least Vermont and Maine.. not sure about western Mass)

The forward fan is electric.. it engauges at a different temp than the clutch fan. The clutch fan will spin all the time, at a slower speed when the engine is cold and faster as the engine warms and the clutch is engauged. The electric will not spin when the car is cold and not moving, it will spin slightly when air moves through it as the car moves.... and when it's thermostat kicks in it will spin.

Carbon build up can be from engine oil, but is usually due to contaminants in the fuel and oil burning off.... I'm sure there are other causes also.

howstuffworks.com has answers to your quandries... I'd go there first, as their info will be more reliable than mine... and others'

Use the search function to answer that... there are several threads already discussing VLSD and LSD..

Find the relay.. and hardwire it temporarily. It should run when you turn the car on.... wait.. it might run constantly.. depends on when that relay gets a power supply.. but I believe it is after ignition, not constant.

carbon buildup is normal and cannot be avioded, it is a byproduct of the combustion of fossil fuels. as far as cleaning out your exhaust...why? you wont gain anything from it.

white smoke is a bad headgasket, check your coolant and oil, if your coolant is brown from oil thats one sign its blown, or if there is water in your oil or you have the dreaded "milkshake" thats another sign. do not drive with a blown headgasket as it will warp heads and easily cause other problems frim having water mixing in with the oilif the smoke has a bluish tint to it, then you are burning oil, bad piston rings or valve guides would be the culprit there.

a bad converter can give off a rotten egg smell, sometimes, it may also ratlle around inside, get underneath the car and shake it to see (obviously after it has cooled off)
