Just bought a 2000 I30. Stock tune. Is everybody running PREMIUM fuel. I see in the specs that Premium is RECOMMENDED not required. Thanks everybody

Running 92 octane now. I had to run 89 when gas was so high....I could tell how horrible it was. A while back, I found 94 octane. All I can say is "Amazing!"

Run premium.

You can run lower octanes but you WILL see a reduction in power as the ECU retards timing, especially at the top end.

Premium or 93 here in the east coast recommended for the Max.

only reason it will retard timing is if it detects pinging. you can run any gas you want if it doesn't ping.
