Why would you? What's wrong with 91?Even if you wanted to bump it up a notch, you're spending more money buying a bottle of that crap than you would on the difference buying 93-94 (provided it's available to you - i.e. Sunoco Ultra)

Unless you're modding your G into a drag racer, don't bother.

Octane booster is a waste of money - bad chemicals for your engine...your manual states against using it, and the amount needed to actually impact something would cost you tons of cash.

Just buy 91/93 like you're supposed to and you don't need any of that crap.

DO NOT USE IT.

1. It is a waste of money. Most only add .1 point of octane. So adding it to 89 will give you 89.1.

2. Most all have MHT which is the main additive to boost octane. MHT leaves depostis that create hot spots that inturn require you to use more of it to get the same results and to prevent detination.

3. 93 octane gas here on the east cost isnt that expensive. But make sure you get a "brand name" fuel. ie. BP, Shell, Chevron. Now with that said. Look for gas stations that DO NOT add Ethonal to their fuel. The 10% they ad will loose you about 2-5% MPH and HP.

(sits back and waits for TELCOMAN to chime in. LOL)

Don't bother with it.

I'll use either 91, 92, or 93, whichever is available on long trips (and all the time). On long trips I'll range from 25-28 MPG. On long trips, theoretically you can go 500 miles on one tank, the highest I've gone is 478 but there was probably still 1.5 gallons left.

Getting an pre-ignition now? If not stay with what you have, if you are go up a notch with the gas, don't add an additive.

First I'd like to ask why you would want to run Octane booster.

Secondly does your car need it for any certain reason? Forced induction, nitrous, track day abuse?

Most "octane" boosters you buy at Autozone, PepBoys etc are the s*** marketing junk that won't actually give you the advantages of raising your octane properly. They may raise the specific octane, but as mentioned earlier they do it by adding chemicals that cause other issues.

If you do actually need higher octane fuel because you're going to be racing, or you want to turn up the boost, or run a bit more nitrous. First off make sure your tune is set up for it. Then you have two choices, run unleaded race gas of a higher octane than what you find at the pump or run an actual octane booster like the Torco Additive.http://torcoracefuel.net/pro-accelerator.html

We use it on a number of our customers race vehicles and also a number of other shops in the area run it when they want the added protection on their pump gas cars. It runs about $21+tax for a bottle that is good for five or ten gallons depending on what octane you need. Far less than having to buy race gas currently. It's also very well respected in the industry and a number of the chemical geeks that have reviewed it say it actually does what they claim, and it does it safely.

The other way to go, and requires the proper tune also is water or meth injection. Once again, it depends on what you're needing it for.

That's quite a problem with a vehicle designed supposedly for higher octanes. Try resetting your ECU first to see if the vehicle will re-learn. Alternatively you could get a tuner and have a shop re-tune the motor to run better with the lower octane.
