1999 Nissan Pathfinder 255,000km
The car was running normally and had been driving fine until one morning when I went to start it. It started fine and began to warm up until about 20 seconds later when it suddenly died. The car would crank but would not start.

Took the opportunity to change a lot of things in the car as they were way overdue:
Timing belt, pulley, coolant pump
Spark plugs and leads
Distributor (all parts)
O2 sensors
Fuel pump and filter
Starter
Grounding wires
Battery

The car would now start up sometimes and run smooth but about after 15-20 seconds, the car would slowly putter out.

I then checked the MAF sensor and all relays and fuses. Sadly no luck, still starts up only sometimes, and when it does run it does so for only 15 seconds.

That's the really strange part, it runs sometimes and when it does its extremely smooth like there is nothing wrong at all. Then, like it's on a timer, about 15 seconds later it putters out. It does not die immediately but almost like its being starved of gas. After this the car refuses to start up again until some time later. No codes come up.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Goose

Check the fuel pressure regulator and make sure the vacuum line to the regulator is not leaking . Pages EC-31 to EC-32 of the FSM. https://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual ... 999/ec.pdf

Thank you for the help, really appreciate it. I had checked the fuel pressure and things seemed okay while the car wasn't running as it is hard to get started. I will check the regulator when I'm next working on the car! Will update soon!
