i have a 89 240sx se...sometimes it runs good sometimes it runs like s***..the other day it ran really bad and the battery light came on and the alt. was charging over 17volts..could that make it run bad? even if the lights not on?

Not 100% sure but if your not getting enough power through your electrical system, it could make things such as your fuel pump and other stuff not operate to full capacity. Not sure but just trying to help.
