obx turbo thoughts

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

hey whats going on guys, today i had no classes so me and my boy started on my 1jz swap and turboing his KA.. As we were pulling my my old soch i was starting to think that instead of runing the tt setup on the 1j i should just throw on a singe turbo while the motor is out. i jumped on the internet and i stumbled across a obx t4 60-1 turbo claiming to be good for 550 hp. . now before people say ooooooooo search keep in mind that ive been searching all day since 7 this evening and every time i type in obx turbos or someting with obx, it only shows obx manifolds or lsd which alot of 240 guys use. ive gotten alot of good reviews about the lsd and maniflod, but i cant find anyhing about the turbo.... if you guys can give me info asap i will really appriciate it because im tying to finish my swap within two weeks. thanks

Put an obx turbo on your motor if you want it to waste your money. OBX turbos are sh1t and I wouldn't trust them further than I could throw 'em. Save up and by a quality turbo

OBX do they even have a website? They are kind of a knock of company from what I have seen. Id go with a name you know and trust.

you should place that in your sig. not so that we can laugh, but so that fools can learn from you.

get the driftmotion.com single ct26 manifold for $330 and find a used ct26 (i see them on craigs all the time for around $100) and youll have plenty of power to throw around. with your plumbing and accessories i bet you could be pushing decent numbers for around $500 +-

yeah you should not cheap out on the turbo - my first setup i had an SS auto chrome turbo and had to rebuild it after about a month - if you can justify getting a new turbo try finding a used Garret turbo - thats what i did good luck with the swap

if you really wanted a cheap turbo, you could just use a HOLSET. good, reliable, HOLSET. ebay the name HOLSET.

I was wondering about the OBX turbos before. I gave them a call, and not one person could give me any specs or info on the turbos. They told me that I'd have to check the website, which of course shows no specs.

VALID POINT!

if anything leave the stock twins (unless you have a JDM spec 2J) then look for usdm stockers ($200) and boost them my buddy made 513whp on stock twins. or you can do TWIN super 60's in the stock supra locations.

better to find local turbo shops that make custom turbos from garrett parts

warranted and built by hand with years of experience.

and you support local business.
