The spacer doesn't fit over the hole loosely. Its a tight fit so I hammered it down to fit and now I can't get it out. I'm refering to the spacer the one that you bolt the holes with the screw in. Are you with me? Thanks...

I'm not totally sure what you're talking about, but when I installed my short shifter, nothing needed "hammering" anywhere... everything just kinda slid into place.

I'm thinking maybe you didn't remove the spring clips, or the lower washers?

Okay you guys know the spacer plate? The plate that has holes in it so you can screw the C shape metal thing to? Well that plate didn't fit over the place it need to be nicely so I hammered it down slightly to get it to fit good. And it did but now it won't come up. It's stuck. You get what I'm saying? Thanks..

That spacer plate as you call it doesn't get put into anything. It should just sit over the hole in the transmission. Counterbored holes up. The c-clips go underneath it and lock into the groove around the outside of the hole. the nuts face up towards the plate for proper spacing when intalled.

I got mine from ebay and it had no instructions. I figured it out after a couple of trys. hope this helps. I know it's a little confuseing

return the OBX, buy a B&M. you'll thank us all later..... but otherwise, if you had pics it would help a lot.

I just bought one of ebay too w/out instructions and never needed the hammer for it at all. I did not use the lock washer though, ( didnt fit, just used thread lock) I would say bright out that trusty hammer and tap ondersides of all four corners in circle to try to pop it of without breaking anything.

tried them all. haha... Can't see the plate from under the car. It lines up even with the transmission thingy so looking up you can't see. There is only like 3 inches between the short shifter spacer and the transmission. I guess I'll just drive it until it finally vibrate off. Just hope no accident from it though.
