Well i finally got some time to install this. I got it off ebay for the QR25DE. It said it was an underdrive and lightweight pulley but it is the same size as the OEM pulley, so it is just a lightweight pulley. It took me 3 hrs because of the damn autotension pulley was fooked up. Apparently the auto tensioner is on recall(on the 2.5 only). Some were overtorked and in my case it was and it says to use a special tool which i did not have. i had to take it off and work it back and forth with a vice and strap-wrench. i am not going to do a write up because it was a big pain in the a$$. Once everything was put back together and working i did feel a little difference but it coulld be that my butt dyno is out of cal. but here is the finished job.

The price difference was about $100.The OBX was $80 on ebay and the gates belt was $31 at o'reilly's.

Hmmm... I think Stillen was first to market in these and OBX was sorry?? I may be wrong though...

Whats the weight of it!? Its the same size so the weights the only difference, i weighed my stillen one!

It allows for faster revs. Less weight to turn. Same if you add a light weight flywheel. It may be small but it ads up in the end like an intake or the bully dog tuner. If you held both the stock and the light weight one you'd feel the difference.

The mechanic work done by this new element attached to your engine / crankshaft - being the same size - how can it produce results besides being ... blue and shiny ?
Lightweight or not, the angular velocity created / transferred / enhanced is null ?!

Mechanics please step up and settle this, either I am losing my common sense or this is a ridiculous mod ...

less work to turn, less weight to move, more power freed up in an area that needs it.

damn i am at work for two days and this. lol. well we will see if it makes a difference on friday when i go racing. It no s*** weighed atleast 5-6 lbs lighter than the stock pulley. So less weight to move, less the engine has to work so more hp made to the wheels. The reason i bought this one was the cool color and that it was $100 cheaper than stillen and same quallity. i didnt expect that much of a gain but it all add's up in the end. here is a pic of the OEM pulley.

That hunk of metal on the left was the majority of the weight added and the whole thing was made of cast iorn too so the OBX and stillen are both made of aircraft grade billet alluminum. big difference.

I did this mod on my '02 QR25DE SE-R, and really noticed a difference after i change the out the stock flywheel for a lighter one. Lighter flywheel+lighter crank pulley=Faster revs and acceleration but your revs will also drop quicker as well.

Yeah that's the down side to it as well for sure. I'm going to hold off on it. Doing more research it's probably just better to save for the flywheel and clutch if your funds permit.

I'd go with the lighter crank pulley and lighter fly wheel combo.

Im just wondering when i get the stage 2 cams how much of a difference that will make. But i think my next addition will be the bullydog tuner though as far as bang for the buck.

there are 2 different companies. http://www.briancrower.com/makes/nissan/qr25.shtml or http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/customer_results.asp both are very reputable companies as far as quality and hp gains.

Neither of those will fit! And if you are planning on getting cams why would u waste your money on a bd tuner when u will need a full flash tune to get the most bang outta the cams!

They don't fit.

Again, please read: sentra-cams-in-2-5-altima-t524895.html

BD Tuner will not compensate for cams as Danny mentions. You will need an SAFC or UPRev flash.

I remember posting this a while back. I'm glad someone was able to install the pulley! I would have ordered and installed by now but I haven't had the time to do so.

Driving with it for a few days now, do you feel any significant difference?

Im almost positive that the CVT can't be dynoed because of it not having gears and a set drive ratio. But i do know for a fact it did do something based on a better track time.
