Hello, I need to replace my 10 year old header with a new one. I have seen OBX on Ebay for $165 new and sometimes see hotshot used for over $100. They look the same. It looks like they have 3 conectors on them. Mine only has two, One for EGR and he other for O2. Maybe the picture is misleading. Has anybody used the OBX or the Hotshot? Mine is a Guide which is no longer made. It was a pain to install and I had to dimple in one of the pipes because it was rubbing along the stearing rod causeing the car to stick in a right turn. My header cost $349 back in 94 and it seems like these are cheap now. Not that I do not mind paying a lower price! My question is has anybody installed the OBX or Hotshot and what do they think? My exhaust is 2 1/2" T H A N K S

I agree with hot shot, but if you are under a small budget, OBX will do you fine.

It seems if you can afford it, Hotshot is the way to go. I have yet to see someone complain about them.I'll most likely take a beating for this suggestion, but people who actually have Pacesetters seem to say they aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be. They aren't as pretty but do the job, especially for the cost, it seems.

This thread in the NA KA section has a similar question, and if you read carefully, you can see the only downside that most people say about the Pacesetters (again, people that actually own them and have been using them) is the rust after you basically run the car at all. If you treat them before they go in, they'll look fine, I'd imagine.I own neither, mind you. Just passing on what I have read..:icesangel

you will gain the most performence out of the pacesetter header due to its better design and the obx header is just as good quality as the hotshot with basically the same design there aint much difference between the two if any

if your worried about not having a shiny header and dont want to take the process to protect it from rust get the obx over the hotshot unless you want to pay for something over priced with the same quality and design

I bought the obx header and have had no problems with leaks or the bolt up process, its a long one piece header is the only down set from it, other than that i love mine

I agree with this guy totally^^^^ I have a Pacesetter on my track car and an OBX on my DD. My pacesetter is heat wrapped so you cant even tell its horribly ugly :) But I dont see why everyone rips on the obx header. ALOT of there products suck but this is an exception. Its an EXACT replica of the Hotshot its just coated better and Mass cheaper. I would get the OBX if I were you but if you may plan on sellin it later get the hotshot for resale purposes.

OBX copies other companies designs and then gets the product made in china with cheaper metals. This is a pretty well known fact in alot of communities.

I have a SR turbo manifold i bought about a year and a half ago, the company that designed it is either out of buisness or just not selling on the internet now because OBX sells a replica of it at $125 less (that have a notorious cracking reputation by the way).

I would never buy a OBX product simply based on the fact that they are stealling from legitimate buisnesses that actually take the time to design a product that works well.

OBX header = Hotshot header, yes, but hotshot is also the company that put up the cost of testing to get the best design and its made in america with better grade materials. That is why the hotshot is more expensive.

Just curious, what are you basing that on?

The HS is a great product. Ive heard nothing but praises from magazines, forums, and owners. I really dont know where you are basing your arguments on.

i don't know where he getting his infor on the hotshot, but as far as mine obx goes, at the moment i had to get my wheels on the road, and it was the best investment for what i paid for it at the time, now on down the road when i build my ka-t then i will spend the money to get the real quality stuff, and i still like the sound the obx gives off, and the turning of the pipes makes it look that much better
