Anyone have any experiences with them? They're pretty cheap on ebay, and I'm quite tired of my open diff.

I know a bunch of guys with hondas that run OBX LSDs in their 300+ hp cars/drag cars. From what I've read earlier models of their stuff did have issues but they're all good now.-Rik

there was a guy on here who installed one and kept us updated for a month or so. he loved it for as long as he kept updates, but long term, i haven't heard anything. I was a little leary of it as well but it may end up being an OK diff. to use. it is definitly NOT a phantom grip, it lasted more than 2 weeks, LOL

keep me posted, I might buy one of these too

PLEASE

a used worn s15 diff costs more then u still gotta swap housings/axles etc...

I wouldn't mind an OBX one designed to just drop right in.... with shimming of course!

don't worry about off brand stuff... it either works or doesn't, and that goes for name brand stuff too..... seen more then my fair share of complaints about parts from Greddy, HKS, TEIN, etc....

*******edit

also, hope your not a drifter, cause u need a clutch locking diff for that... these are more for autocross/track/corners..... but they don't wear out on the flip side....... they are stout and long lasting design of diff

The belleville springs they come with suck. Mine cracked in about a day which resulted in some engagement noise. I'm replacing them with new bellevilles from McMaster when I swap it to my new frame.

Other than that, works great (even with the washers shot). I gave mine a thorough cleaning, chased some of the threads out, and had it shimmed up by a drivetrain shop. Definitely worth the money, to say the least. Held up to 340lb-ft of torque to two 315/35/R18 R-compound tires.

what do you mean by belleville springs? maybe I need to do some research on this............... can u buy better ones that don't break? also what do you mean by the washers? sorry I'm pretty dense when it comes to helical diff's

but I like em and would like to have something like it, plus its cheap... its either this or a S15 diff....... my brother has the VLSD in his s13, its better then open but I think a HLSD would be a lot better for corners/autocrossing... the things I like to do.

that video was most impressive! good link thx.... I didnt know it would lock up that hard and get such a slip angle on it....... not that I'm a drifter but it is cool to get the rear end out every now in then... if it wasn't we would all be driving hondas..............

No, I don't plan on drifting, I plan on dragging though. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1752849about 3 posts down, he gives you links and info on belleville washers. I'd look into it.This paycheck or next paycheck, but I def. plan on getting one. I might just order some drag radials first.

Maybe, but I won't have time to do anything in depth with my car at the moment. And it's still better than open diff+crappy tires lol

how much poweru got?

FWIW, big drag radials(pair) cost more then a OBX diff or S15 diff

Not really sure. Probably around 270 maybe? And the DRs I want are only 127 per tire at tire rack. Buying my buddy's spare set of tires/rims today, probably spend the night burning them off lol. I'm not any kind of drifter but I can just imagine the fun in getting rid of these worn down econo tires.
