Post

I have a 1989 Nissan 240sx SE with the stock single cam engine that I acquired in Nov. 08. When i got it the retard who had it before me cut the stock exhaust manifold so I indeed needed a new one and looked to getting headers. I heard so much crap about OBX headers, people trashed these things left and right with few who got a good product. Now this is a real first hand experience from me. I purchased the OBX sohc 4-2-1 header through amazom.com directly from OBX in Cali. NOT from egay with half that crap is probably fake. I payed 165 for the header and 35 for shipping and got it in the mail a day early which was today. It was packed very well and included all hardware, the welds were perfection and had a high polish finish. I proceeded to install the header and what do you know? ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS nothing hit the steering column, the o2 sensor didnt hit the fire wall, everything lined up right, the flange to cylinder head was level, my cat and exhaust bolted up fine, it didnt hit the heat shield. And it burned into a nice polished gold finish. So you may be asking why did it work for him? Cause I bought the real thing I didnt get it from some third party (ebay) who said it was a "actual obx header" that some how is selling for 1/4th of the price. If you want to go the OBX route dont be dumb buy from the real OBX Racing Products website its virtually hassle free. If any one has questions feel free to ask.

Congrats. I think this is one of the issues- the standards for each unit is not the same- some are slightly off. Some may fit flawlessly. Mine lined up with the exhaust and head just fine, but the thing hits my steering everytime I turn the wheel. I'm still looking for an alternative- may be time to go custom.
