What does it mean when someone is selling theiir car and they put $5000 obo ??

5000 Or Best OfferBasically means, they're selling to the highest bidder and they're going to get rid of the car regardless, often used when someone needs to sell the car NOW. Seller still reserves the right to reject an offer he/she deems too low, but it means they probably aren't expecting to sell the product at that price and are more willing to negotiate
