I know on my 89 240sx there was a way to read the codes from the ECU by reading the green and red flashes. My 97 wont do this though. Is there a difference? Ive noticed that when I turn the screw fully clockwise, the lights on the ecu dont flash but the service engine light does. I tried stopping that when it blinked 3 times but still nothing flashing to indicate whats wrong. Any ideas?

ThanksTim

the obd 2 systems dont flash codes on the ecm you really need to take it somewhere someone can scann it for you. i work in whitemarsh and have a garage at my house. e-mail me and maybe we can set up a time for me to scan the 97.

there is a plug-in for an obd II reader somewhere, places like autozone can scan it for free

Once you have the OBD2 code you then find that page in FSM and follows the page/pages of diagnostic proceedure for each individual code.

You can Google: "Nissan P0xxx" to get general ideas.
