I just got my Auterra OBDII Palm Scan tool attachment via UPS today. Basically it's a little plug/adapter that plugs in the the diagostic port and hooks into my little Palm Vx. If you want to read more on it go to http://www.auterraweb.com Anyway, it can take readings from different sensors and graph them and what-not. Cool thing is that you can store the values into a DB, and export it into Excel. So I was ****ing around and made a graph (does tell you **** really, just testing it out in the little time I had today). Speed Vs. RPM Graph

I am gonna do some more runs tomorrow and see what I can find. You can do the following sensors (1995 240sx):

Calculated Load ValueEngine Coolant TempShort Term Fuel TrimLong Term Fuel TrimEngine RPMVehicle SpeedIgnition Timing AdvanceIntake Air TemperatureAir Flow Rate From MAFAbsolute Throttle PostionO2 Sensors (not sure how many yet)

It also reads DTC's and clears them. I figure I can make some money back off my friends that need the codes cleared =) hahahaha

Thats phat, I could use that. My neutral safety switch is broken, and I'm too lazy to replace it. Keeps lighting up the check engine garbage.

Wow, now i kinda wish i had OBD-II. Anyone know if they make anything like that for OBD-I? Probably not.

OBD-I isn't standarized like OBDII is. The OBDI tools are hella expensive usually. I looked for a long time for my civic when I had one. Couldn't find one for the life of me.

Yup, OBD I isn't standardized, they don't make scanners like that.

i think you can use the OBD 2 scanner and put it on a obd 1 connector, but you would need a special adaptor. The one I use in school is a SnapOn scanner.

You can't use an OBD-II scan tool for OBD-I even with the right end on it. It's a completely different protocol for communication. Also, that SnapOn scanner you used...yea, that probably ran about $3000. Mine...$200 =)
