Is there any reason to think that the emissions equipment (like EVAP canister, canister vent valve, purge control valve, etc etc) would be the same on all OBDII Nissans?

My 97 Pathfinder is throwing codes P0443 and P0446 (purge control valve circuit fault and vent control valve circuit fault). The parts are like $200 a piece from Nissan, so I'm inclined to go to a junkyard, and I would rather not scour 10 junkyards for an R50 Pathfinder when I could just look for any ~96+ up Nissan

Any help would be phenomenal. Thanks!

Some of the emissions equipment is the same. Many parts for Nissans are good across many model lines as well as different years. I purchaed a knock sensor on ebay for a 96 maxima, it also fits altima's and pathfinders from 93 to 2001. Do an online parts search for a pathfinder part and then switch to a maxima part and you will get many of the same part numbers. Good luck.

did a little research in the parts book and this is what i came up with... I pulled 3 part numbers..

14931-40U01- VALVE ASSY-PURGE CUT14930-3M200- VALVE ASSY- CONTROL14958-V6700- VALVE ASSY- VACUUM DELAY

The first part number is compatible with nissan chassis A32B, B14U, B14X, D21U, R50, V40

Second number is compatible with the same adding the S14

Third number is compatible with the same adding the S14 and Z32..

Tell me exactly what you need and i can cross reference.....

Well...I'm pretty sure the part I need, according to the OBDII code, is the EVAP purge control valve. Joe, in your sig (thanks ), gave me part # 14956-38U01 for that.

I also need the EVAP vent control valve, not sure of the part #.

Also, I found a Nissan TSB that says the throwing of codes P0443, P0446, or P0450 could be caused by a faulty EVAP pressure sensor.

If you could find the part #'s for the vent control valve and EVAP pressure sensor, and the cross-referencing for those two plus the purge control valve, I would love you forever. (Not sure if you want that, though )

edit: not sure if this helps you, but: the purge control valve is in the engine bay, between the power steering reservoir and brake fluid reservoir...the vent control valve is in the rear, attached to the EVAP canister...and the EVAP pressure sensor is under the truck somewhere in the middle
