Yes it does!qship96 wrote:Yesterday I got a 4 wheel alignment done {they did an excellent job,toe on all 4 wheels spot on spec, same with rear camber and 0.0000 thrust angle!- guess it pays to go to the independent little guy at $99 instead of all the chain tire stores advertising $72 specials}.
Always a risk to purchase a used item, especially one with moving parts. Luckily the FPCU has no moving parts-but generally fails from over-current conditions that show up as brown/black burnt spots on connector and circuit board....why you must inspect/ask for pictures of any used one you are considering. Mine has 223,000 miles on it and I am on my 2nd pump which is still quiet. I guess they could also fail from old solder joints like the MAF does- lots of heat/cold cycles and vibration/shock components are subject to in automotive environment.Trumpkin wrote:Whats your opinion of a used fpcu? Do they really go bad if you service the pump? Maybe a question for the tech.
Depends how long it powered a failing fuel pump.Trumpkin wrote:My 95 has under 80k. My pump has been done. should I worry about mine?
The pump was done at 50k for maint. No noise from pump before I did it. So I quess I should worry about other items. Like all the rubbers!maxnix wrote:Depends how long it powered a failing fuel pump.
So no fuel pressure measurement to confirm failure?Trumpkin wrote:

No, I just replaced it even though it was good. I guess I'm a little over cautious. Sold the old one on ebay for $90! Pretty crazy.maxnix wrote:So no fuel pressure measurement to confirm failure?
