OBD1 to OBD2

If you swap a DOHC into a OBD1 chassis, do you need to have an OBD2 lower harness also?
As in the Engine harness and ECU are OBD2 but the lower harness is OBD1?

and would it affect the fuel pump or ignition if I didnt swap the lower harness?

I got an s14 with a KADE swap.

It had three wires coming off the O2.
But if it was in a OBD1 chassis before mine, and used the OBD2 engine and ecu harness, but the lower harnes was OBD1 would it affect spark and crank or fuel?
