I have a 1990 M30 with 130k miles, the car has some intermitant idle problems, otherwise it runs great. Is it wise to replace knock, temp or other sensors at this mileage as preventive maintenence? I have replaced o2 sensor and clean the intake on a regular schedule. Thanks for your response.

You CAN replace them, however IMO its not really necessary to do so... Kinda sounds like you may have a MAF related issue.

Thanks Elwesso

I am testing all sensors per the FSM. Do the knock sensors give up at a certain age. I noticed many posts about bad KS on the Q45?

Happy New Year, Steve
