obd1 or obd2?

I searched but didnt find... whats the easies way to tell a obd 1 KA from an obd 2 unit? Some of the early 95 s14 KAs were obd 1 ,right?

If you look just to the left of the throttle body and up a couple of inches and you see a small black container/canister (probably about 2" tall) with several vacuum lines coming out of it, it is OBDII. If you don't see this, it is OBDI. The little canister is very easy to spot.

ECU plug for OBD 1 is blue.

ECU plug for OBD II is white.

is this true about the plugs color? i have this harness off the motor i bought and the ecu plug is white. So from what your saying its obd2 but then i look on [URL]http://catalog.eautopartscatalog. ... ensor[/URL] and the water temp sensor changes 7/1995 has a new sensor style as the 2/94-6/1995 has the old style. I thought maybe this was because of the change from obd1 to obd2 as far as the change in 1995

autozone does free ecu reads...go check if u have obd2? i have a 95 and i have obd2..

i have the ecu here in my hands, the car is undergoing a 5speed swap.. 1989 car with a ka24de from a 1995 and i just making sure the engine/ecu/harness i got here is all obd2

The harness plug is white and the ecu is white with a 3C on it in black text on label. look at the front of your ECU does it say 3C?
